About Jamaica’s international hotels

Project 007

About Jamaica’s international hotels, really?

A hotel charges 400 USD a night for a room and pays its average Jamaican worker 80 USD for a 40-hour week. The worker is then expected to top-up their wages with tips from smiles.

Most of the hotel’s profits leave the island.

Cost of living is at western prices.

I’m thinking a list of all the international hotels in Jamaica, their room rate per night, and their worker’s weekly wages.

Updated yearly, to help conscious travellers decide whether they wish to spend their holiday in a hotel that is a wage-oppressor of the friendly, kind, creative, and original Jamaican people, whose culture we love so much.

We will support the hotels as they create better policies to improve the lives of their Jamaican employees and families.

The Pitch Fanzine will champion hotel brands who are treating people right and giving back to the community.

Yes, we will create this.

Best wishes,
