We walked the long way round
Up country in St. Ann, on our way to school in the mornings, my brothers and I would walk with our friends and share our stories with each other.
One day my older brother told us a story about a flying car and even though we knew cars couldn’t fly, by the end of his tale he had us thinking twice.
There was a shortcut to school but because we loved hearing my brother’s stories so much, we walked the long way round.
We were never late as we made sure to leave out extra early to listen to him, because the world he had created was full of adventures.
Over the years I’ve often thought on our journeys to school and those stories.
If we can create any world we like, why not make it a good one.
Isn’t that what we all want?
Peace on earth.
Let’s Pitch Our Stories and create change together.
