Futures

The reason why I say Pitch Futures, instead of future, is because I believe in multiple futures.

Multiple realities existing at the same time, with different versions of us:

The public version of us

How can I help you?

The other us

How can I outsmart you?

The us with our real purpose

Why we are here?

From a very young age, while living up country in St. Ann, Jamaica, I would wake up really early in the mornings, go outside and sit on my favourite rock, my long nightie stretched over my knees, and stare into space.

My view was of the green pasture ahead, with the single tree in the middle, still growing there, where the local farmer kept his cattle.

I used to watch him carry water down the long path to fill up the trough he had set out for his cows. They would run over, and he would pet them.

With eyes wide open, my thoughts would go deeper and deeper until my mind drifted into space, where I would see my multiple futures.

Finding me one morning, my dad decided to take me to the local mother woman with the dreadlocked hair, and flowery garden, for her to observe me.

She gave me ganja tea to drink while I sat in a warm herbal bath, in the sun, under the red bougainvillea, staring into space.

She sat nearby and told my dad my futures.

Which inspired Pitch Futures
