I call on you our ancestors
Three years ago, in 2020, I sat on a bench in our garden, in London, and thought on my life purpose and how to achieve it.
I knew it would be a long journey, I couldn’t make alone. I had to invite super people who were not only kind, but also creative, and wanted good for the world.
I also needed guidance from our ancestors.
In my thoughts, I said, “I call on you Nanny of the Maroons, I call on you Marcus Garvey, I call on you Paul Bogle, I call on you Samuel Sharpe, I call on you Bob Marley. I call on you our ancestors, please lead us home to Jamaica.”
Later, I called on Gil Scott-Heron, Harriet Tubman, Una Marson, Rosa Parks, Martin Luther King Jr., Malcolm X, Nelson Mandela, and Muhammad Ali, for inspiration.
I’ve read, listened to, and have been inspired by the stories, songs, lyrics, writings, speeches, poems, and quotes they left us, while we have been on our journey.
In my vision, we are sailing across the blue sea, on our way to Jamaica, with the yellow sun shining above us.
Our Jamaican peopledem, Kenisha is returning home soon with inclusive super creative people, who care about the world and its people, to Free Jamaica and free the world, creatively.
From mental slavery.
And save the planet.
We are in a revolution.
I call on you our ancestors, please lead us home to Jamaica.
I call on you.
Best wishes,
Kenisha (her / us)
